Our Story – From Aunt Lan’s Sewing Table to Elviea

I never thought I’d start a brand—until I became a mother.

After giving birth, I began experiencing occasional leaks. It was uncomfortable. Embarrassing. And honestly, isolating. The world doesn’t really prepare you for that part of womanhood.

One day, a parcel arrived from my Aunt Lan.

She had sewn a few pairs of special underwear for me—soft, breathable, and designed to hold leaks discreetly. She’d learned how to make them years ago for women in her community, stitching them with care and quiet dignity.

Aunt Lan came to the UK from Vietnam in the early '90s. She never advertised her work. Word simply spread. If a woman needed comfort, she found Aunt Lan.

I slipped into the underwear she made—and for the first time since giving birth, I felt held. Not just physically, but emotionally. It was as if her stitching whispered, “You’re still whole.”

That moment became the beginning of Elviea.

We carry forward Aunt Lan’s legacy—her tenderness, her precision, and her belief that every woman deserves dignity. But we’ve also reimagined her designs with modern fabrics and science-led fits, turning function into elegance.
